SummerSlam: the most awaited Summer Party

 

SummerSlam is the professional wrestling event created by Vince McMahon and this is held in August every year and advertised by the WWE via pay-per-view broadcasting system. This is the second major event of the year by WWE after WrestleMania. SummerSlam became one of World Wrestling Federation’s most successful events and one of the “Big Four” pay-per-views, along with WrestleMania, Survivor Series, and Royal Rumble. Those four events, along with King of the Ring, are known as the “Classic Five”.

This event has been organized in different countries. It was organized at Staples Center in Los Angles from 2009-2014. Since 2015 this event is organized by Barclays Center in New York City borough of Brooklyn. It is the third time that Barclays is hosting SummerSlam.

SummerSlam started in 1988 and was produced by WWF. This was inaugurated on 29 August in Madison Square Garden in New York city via pay-per-view broadcasting system and was made exclusive to the Raw and SmackDown brands. The main event was the match that played by Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage vs Ted DiBiase and Andre the Giant. Hogan and Savage won this match.

SummerSlam 2017, that is the thirtieth event, is ready to take on fires. It is starting from August 20, with production and networking of WWE for WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown brands. WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown are profession wrestling TV programs and brands too.

In SummerSlam 2016, 12 matches were contested. In the main event, Brock Lesnar defeated Randy Orton by technical knockout while in other matches, Finn Bálor defeated Seth Rollins to become the inaugural WWE Universal Champion, Dean Ambrose defeated Dolph Ziggler to retain the WWE World Championship, and AJ Styles defeated John Cena.

•    Naomi (c) vs. Natalya

•    Neville (c) vs. Akira Tozawa (with Titus O’Neil)

•    AJ Styles (c) vs. Kevin Owens

•    Randy Orton vs. Rusev

•    The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston, and/or Xavier Woods) (c) vs. The Usos (Jey and Jimmy Uso)

•    John Cena vs. Baron Corbi
